The Dutch Government Biodiversity Programme is pleased to invite you for the presentation of the key findings of the report ‘Certification and  Biodiversity: exploring improvements in the effectiveness of certification schemes on biodiversity’.

This report is the result of a research and consultation process commissioned to KPMG by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Agentschap-NL on behalf of the Dutch Government Biodiversity Programme. This will be a web-based event, moderated by KPMG Associate Director, Jerwin Tholen.

The web-cast will be held on Wednesday, 15th of February 2012, from 14:00 CET to 16:00 CET. We kindly ask you to RSVP before Monday, 13th of February. Please spread the message!

The Dutch Government Biodiversity Programme is pleased to invite you for the presentation of the key findings of the report ‘Certification and  Biodiversity: exploring improvements in the effectiveness of certification schemes on biodiversity’. This report is the result of a research and consultation process commissioned to KPMG by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Agentschap-NL on behalf of the Dutch Government Biodiversity Programme.

The presentation will focus on the key findings of this study related to:

  • The need for a better understanding of the effectiveness of certification regarding biodiversity conservation;
  • The implications of market developments for sustainable commodities;
  • The main trends in sustainability management, biodiversity and certification that influence this debate;
  • The roles that the government, the business community, certification schemes and NGOs could play in order to contribute to the effectiveness of certification schemes on biodiversity.

This will be a web-based event, moderated by KPMG Associate Director, Jerwin Tholen, on Wednesday, 15th of February 2012 at 14:00 CET. In advance of the event you will receive the weblink to enter the event accompanied by instructions.

It will be an interactive event where participants can pose questions and trigger discussion on specific points.
